Case Study:

Scenario:

A fast growth tech start-up are working towards their series C funding round and a key objective as Swedish based company if to establish a sales team in the UK consisting of 8 Sales Development Representatives (SDR’s), to be managed by an existing employee. Their head office is in Sweden and they are unsure how to best manage the process.

 

What We Did:

Having gained an understanding of the business and the role of the SDR within it, we recommended running a bespoke assessment day. This was the most efficient way for the client to assess and recruit the required number of candidates with minimum business disruption, especially considering the key decision makers were travelling from Sweden to conduct the interviews. Following a number of discussions with relevant stake holders we were able to determine both the candidate brief and set a date for the assessment, to be help in two weeks time from the
date of engagement.

 

Within Certus Graduate we set up a delivery team, led by an Account Manager, who through discussion with the client determined and agreed the most suitable tasks and exercises to be included on the day, designed to highlight the particular skills and behaviors that were essential to the client. Having finalized these details, we agreed a minimum number of suitable attendees to ensure expectations were clear from the outset.

 

Having finalized these details, the client was able to return to focusing on their business with no further involvement required until the assessment day.

 

On the day itself, all client personnel arrived early for a thorough recap of what the day would involve, timelines and assessment criteria. The client was introduced and given a 20-30 minute slot to present their business to the attendees, discussing the role and its importance within the company, sharing the company’s Vision and any other relevant details before starting the
assessment activities.

 

Outcome:

The day was a huge success with the client hiring all 8 SDR’s and extending a further 2 offers. All candidates have gone on to pass probation and are enjoying their role within the business.
